  • Overview

    Global diversified alternative investment manager is searching for an Associate Portfolio Manager to work in our Singapore office to collaborate with the Macro investment teams in NY and London.   The ideal candidate will have at least five (5) years Asia trading experience in multiple asset classes with proven trade execution skills, strong market knowledge and risk taking experience to bolster the performance and efficiency of the firm’s Macro fund. 

    Responsibilities

    • Provide best execution across various markets with focus on Asia (primarily FX, rates and equities).
    • Handle entire trade life cycle and all related tasks including trade analysis, ranking, monitoring, strategy, execution, entry and reconciliation with middle and back office operations ensuring smooth functioning of the desk in collaboration with other teams.
    • Provide strong technical analysis of all macro trades including monitoring proprietary risk system (drawdowns, targets, vols, etc.).
    • Ensure positions are properly balanced and PnL is correct by understanding each position within the portfolio.
    • Gather and disseminate color, market information, trade ideas and news flow.
    • Build and maintain relationships with counterparties. 
    • Contribute ideas and opinions during weekly team meetings.
    • Support other APM's as backup on other regions and asset classes as needed, such as equity indices, futures, credit, foreign exchange, emerging and developed markets.

    Qualifications

    • Undergraduate degree, CFA a plus.
    • Minimum five (5) years' experience trading Asia markets including options with proven knowledge of capital markets.
    • Risk taking experience at an alternative asset manager preferred.
    • Strong quantitative, analytical and financial modeling skills.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Comfortable voicing opinions and receiving feedback within a highly collaborative culture.
    • Extremely organized and adaptable with a strong ability to multi-task and efficiently prioritize.
    • Self-motivated with outstanding verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Professional demeanor with excellent listening skills.
