    NY/London/Singapore based alternative asset manager seeking a developer to join the technology innovation team focused on providing world class software to a high performing investment team.  Our senior leaders believe that technology is the key to maintaining our competitive edge within alternative asset management.  As a result we’re seeking top talent to contribute directly to the success of our firm by developing new products, scaling our existing systems and creating meaningful user experiences at MKP.

     

    ABOUT THE ROLE
    ==============

    Working within a small team of experienced developers, new hires take on significant responsibility and ownership for projects very quickly after joining—developing front office software applications for asset management activities.   Collaborating with other technologists and investment professionals you will spend your time continuously improving existing software and creating new software tools that support our business. This is an exciting opportunity to build your skill set in technology within finance using the latest technologies, learning from experienced professionals and committing code to systems that are central to the organization.

    You will work with a team of highly skilled individuals with decades of fast-paced experience in both in technology and finance.  We enjoy collaborating with each other and have a tight process throughout the development lifecycle.  We consistently work with new technologies, and value professionals who are open to learning new things, regardless of pre-existing comfort zones.  We follow methodologies such as scrum, design sprints and agile development—with flexibility for the shifting needs of our business.  Upon taking ownership and generating results, we are rewarded with interesting challenges, entrepreneurial undertakings and endless opportunities to learn.

    Responsibilities

    • Design, develop and deploy solutions for the multiple business units including strategy/research, risk/investment and operations teams
    • Automate program and monitor various software components to ensure the availability of information to for real-time financial analysis
    • Operate with a TDD mentality when producing quality code that is clean and scalable
    • Review and analyze existing applications code and code in development to ensure performance efficiency
    • Provide post implementation support to new and existing applications
    • Continuously expand industry and technical knowledge

    Qualifications

    • Internship experience in application development and support within financial services
    • Experience with Python AND either: C#, Java or C++
    • Knowledge of SQL and relational databases
    • MS Excel VBA
    • Experience with Git source control
    • Strong Object Oriented Programming (OOP) knowledge
    • Proactive communicator with both written and verbal communication skills in English
    • Ability to manage multiple time sensitive assignments, meet deadlines and achieve assigned targets

     

    EDUCATION

    ==============

    • Bachelor’s or higher-level degree in Computer Science
    • Demonstrated coursework in mathematics, finance, economics or related field
